Capable ("tüchtig") violinist.
He was pupil and son in law of Karl Wilhelm Uhlrich in Sondershausen. In 1874 he also became a pupil of Johann Christoph Lauterbach in Dresden.
He was "Musikdirektor" (director of a musical society) in Sondershausen and lateron became "Konzertmeister" (Leader) in Magdeburg. From 1884 onwards he was "Hofkonzertmeister" (Leader of the orchestra at the court) in Dessau.

Wow!
Seitz wrote some very good musical works that are still played today. In study books and also in the 'Suzuki Method' I am just a little disappointed that so little is know about him.
