The German composer Gerhard von Keußler was also a conductor. He also published writing about music.
Gerhard von Keußler studied at the Leipzig conservatory: composition with Carl Reinecke, counterpoint with Salomon Jadassohn and cello with Julius Klengel.
He has worked in Prague (from 1906), Hamburg (from 1918) and Stuttgart (from 1922). In 1933 Von Keußler left for Melbourne, Australia, where he worked as musical director in St. Patick’s Cathedral. He returned to Germany in 1936.
