Mexican composer, pianist, and musicologist Julio Estrada will receive the Medalla Bellas Artes for 2016. The Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA) gives Estrada the award because in his work as composer, pianist and professor, he combines art and science.

Estrada will receive the 24 carats gold medal during a ceremony on 6 December.
