Philip Rothman’s compositions have been performed by the Utah Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic, National Philharmonic of Lithuania and numerous other ensembles. His music has been broadcast nationwide on NPR’s Performance Today and on other programs. Rothman’s endeavors have earned him honors including four ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Awards, a Renée B. Fisher Foundation Award, and two Music Alive national residencies from the American Symphony Orchestra League and Meet The Composer.
Rothman has had commissions from the New York Youth Symphony which premiered at Carnegie Hall and from the Grant Monument Association, which was premiered by the U.S. Military Academy Band. His film work includes orchestrations for the feature films Hollywoodland and The Nanny Diaries. He holds degrees from Rice University and Juilliard.
