Transcribed and adapted version of "Da Jakob nu das Kleid ansah" for recorder consort, information and midi excerpt (this and other early music for recorders) at http://ourworld.compuserve.com:80/homepages/4andersons/foray.htm.
Ludwig Senfl sang in the court choir of Maximilian I. He was the most illustrious pupil of Heinrich Isaac, and served as court composer in Isaac’s absence. Senfl was appointed official composer after Isaac’s death in 1517, and was appointed to a similar position at the Bavarian court in 1519. (Contribution by Jim Anderson <74563.71@compuserve.com>)

Senfl's picture
I am not sure that this picture is Senfl. If he was dead by 1543 he probably didn't live long enough to be in the ruff-wearing era; also if you look at the drawing of him in the 1520s by Hans Schwarz his face has an entirely different bone structure. I would welcome comments on this!

This is Lassus
I feel compelled to tell you that on your website you have incorrectly identified this picture. This is a picture of Lassus, NOT Sennfl. A very good friend of mine has recently conducted extensive research into the life of Sennfl, including weeks of searching through original manuscripts in Germany. Her book will be published this year (together with a vast amount of previously unpublished music of Ludwig Sennfl). This is why I can be so certain that you have mistakenly identified this picture wrongly. I am sure that you will want to correct this mistake as quickly as possible.
Best Regards,
Al.
