Robin Lamott is a composer of Piano music in the romantic and modern style. He has composed over 100 Piano pieces. His most recent publication, titled “Contrasts” contains 7 pieces for piano. Other famous works are: Ballade, Etude Manifique, Eulogy, The Field mouse and Two part invention. Lamott has been called the reincarnated one as his music is said to resemble Chopin, Schumann and even Bach.
Robin Lamott was born in Zagreb, Croatia in 1960. His family moved to Sydney, Australia in 1969. He began composing at the age of 14 and studied piano and theory at Gallaghers School Of Music in Parramatta, Sydney from 1972 until 1976. He has developed his own style partially derived from his love of baroque, classical and especially romantic period music and fondness for the music of Chopin and Schuman. He is a fierce critic of contemporary music methods of atonality and dissonance and chooses to avoid composing in this style saying that "It does not deserve a single ear".
Unfortunately, he was never able to fulfill his dream of being a full-time composer and mastering his craft to the fullest, because it never made any money. As a result, his piano music hardly saw any fame other than being played by piano students and used as examination pieces. As a consequence, many compositions were either destroyed or became lost.
Fortunately, some compositions have survived and have been edited and published by the composer from his original handwritten manuscripts. He felt he owed it to himself to do so and these are available for free download right here.

I enjoyed playing your pieces
I enjoyed playing your pieces in Contrasts and am trying to buy more of your works on line. Please make it easier to find where we can buy your music. I've been playing piano since 1956 and your pieces are just what I have been looking for to play for a long time. My birthday is also 1st April but 1948. My love of classical music has always prevailed over all others. Keep on composing - I love your combination of contemporary merged with traditional music.
