Seems I'll be the first. So, voilà : my father was a musician; S.R was always his favorite.
He met him after a concert in Montréal in 1938, I believe. That was the crowning moment
of my father's life. I've noticed that S.R. died on 28-March-1943; I was born on that exact
same date. (NOT a claim for reincarnation) Found out more recently that S.R. has been
"teasing" me with some interestin proximities : I've always been an avid sailboater, and
two of my favorite anchoring spots have been Sandy Hook NJ, not far from Locus Point
NJ, where S.R. rented a cottage, AND Northport NY, close to Little Neck Road, where he
also rented a cottage close t the water. (I've read that in both cases, boats would anchor
as close as possible to listen. Last but not least of the proximities : for many years I used
to travel between Montréal and New York, and one of my favorite roads was the scenic
Taconic Stare Parkway. Little did I know that the Taconic goes right by Lakeview Drive
in Mount-Pleasant, where S.R. is buried. And this last proximity went on for years. Soooo,
how do I feel about all this? Probably called to deepen the subject. This may happen in
the guise of : I'll be traveling to Bavaria in October (family), and the distance from Weggis
to Munich is only a four-hour drive. i just might go to check "Villa Senar" for myself.
