The most important Dutch music prize — the Matthijs Vermeulen Prize — is awarded to Peter Adriaansz.

Adriaansz receives the award for his composition Scala II, for piano and percussion. In their report, the jury writes that his music can appeal to a broad public. The Matthijs Vermeulen Prize, named after the Dutch composer Vermeulen will be given to Adriaansz during a concert on 12 December in The Hague.
