A PROGRAMMATIC CONCERTO FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA
The work is comprised of three 'themed' movements: I: Cassiopeia; II: Andromeda; III: Perseus. The overall duration is 42 minutes.
Instrumentation: 2 Flutes (2nd doubling Piccolo); (Flutes require B-foot joints), 2 Oboes (2nd doubling Cor Anglais), 2 Clarinets in Bb (2nd doubling Clarinet in A), Bass Clarinet (extended-range instrument required), 2 Bassoons (2nd doubling Contrabassoon), 2 French Horns in F, 2 Bb Trumpets, 2 Trombones. Timpani (1 player). Percussion* (2 players). Piano. Strings: [Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Violoncello, Contrabass (all basses to be able to play low C)] Note: Transposing instruments are written in C in the score.
