The Swiss canton Solothurn has awarded composer Urs Joseph Flury with the Solothurner Kunstpreis 2016 (Solothurn Art Prize 2016). The prize comes with a sum of 20000 Swiss Franks.

Flury receives the prize because he has helped shape the cultural landscape of Solothurn over the past decades in a remarkable way.
