Tina Davidson wins Lancaster Symphony Composer's Award

The Lancaster Symphony Composer’s Award for 2015 is awarded to Tina Davidson. The award, established in 1959, is given annually to a prominent American composer. Davidson was born in Sweden, but grew up in the United States. She studied at Bennington College with Henry Brant, Louis Calabro, Vivian Fine and Lionel Nowak.
Tina Davidson is also founder of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Composers Forum, where she was director from 1999-2001. She was president of the New Music Alliance, which has been responsible for the New Music America Festivals. She was also organizer of a nation-wide festival entitled "New Music Across America."
