The Norwegian organist and composer Johan Daniel Berlin was born in Germany. He was also an inventor and writer, and published the first Danish-Norwegian music textbook in 1744. He counted as Trondheim’s leading musician. Of his circa 30 mostly instrumental compositions only few survive.
