The young New Zealand composer Robin Toan is the 2006 recipient of the $20,000 Edwin Carr Foundation Scholarship. Toan is now studying at the New Zealand School of Music, and she intends to use the scholarship to study in Europe; mainly England and Germany. She is looking forward to hearing performances of compositions that aren't performed in New Zealand.

Robin Toan is now working on a string orchestra composition that will be premiered in Paris on 7 December.
