15th Summer Composition Program in Paris

The European American Musical Alliance, Inc. (EAMA) is pleased to announce its 15th Summer Composition Program in Paris, France with Dr. Philip Lasser and Professors Michel Merlet and Narcis Bonet on the Composition Faculty. Program Dates: July 1–31, 2009. The Composition Program offers musical training in the legendary tradition of the French pedagogue Nadia Boulanger. Students study the crafts of Composition: Counterpoint, Harmony, Sight-reading, and Ear Training and participate in Chorale. Composers have weekly composition lessons and attend regularly scheduled analysis classes and lecture/demonstrations by renowned scholars and performers. The EAMA Summer Composition program together with the Conducting and Chamber Music Programs have regularly scheduled concerts and masterclasses throughout the month of July. There is a $50 application fee. Completed applications are due January 17, 2009 (postmark), in order to be considered for financial assistance for the July 2009 session. Tuition grants and fellowships are available to qualified applicants. The final application deadline (postmark) is April 17, 2009.
