The Toronto composer Ann Southam has died last Thursday. She was a teacher in electronic music at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. She composed extensively for electroacoustic instruments, but also for modern dance companies and choreographers, including the Toronto Dance Theatre. In recent years, she has been interested in purely acoustic instruments.
