Elgar's "Pomp and Circumstance" marches are quite famous, especially his first one ("Land of Hope and Glory"). Composer Anthony Payne has now completed Elgar's sketches for a sixth march in the series. Elgar said these sketches, made in the 1930's, were "Jolly good". In spirit march no. 6 is quite different from the first. The premiere of the new march will take place at this year's London Proms festival.
