Dutch composition prize to Peter Adriaansz
The Dutch composer and organist Peter Adriaansz has won the Matthijs Vermeulen Prize — the most important Dutch composition award — for 2015. Adriaansz studied composition with, among others, Louis Andriessen, Brian Ferneyhough and Diedereik Wagemans.
He received the prize for his composition Scala II, written for Slagwerk Den Haag (Percussion The Hague). The Jury praises him for his refined composing, his new sounds, and his accessible style.
