Yesterday, at the finale of the Salzburg Festival, Karlheinz Stockhausen was to conduct the world premiere of his MIXTUR (written in 2003, on commission of the festival's parting director Peter Ruzicka). However, his doctor advised him not to appear at the festival. It is unclear what made the doctor take that decision.
