Die geographische Lage wie auch die Geschichte des Habsburgerreichs verleihen Wien eine besondere Rolle im Verhältnis zu seinen östlichen Nachbarn. Mit den Klassikern Schönberg und Dvořák beginnen wir eine musikalische Reise, die uns bis nach Kiew zu Alexander Shchetynsky führt, der wie so viele ukrainische Kulturschaffende derzeit in großer Bedrängnis lebt. Durch Musik soll ein Zeichen für Respekt und Versöhnung gesetzt und der Hoffnung auf eine baldige Beendigung der Konflikte Ausdruck verliehen werden.

In joint research, Helmut Mooshammer and Senka Brankovic have developed a program that accompanies Jewish cultural life in Austria and Germany from the 19th and 20th centuries, with all its peaks and troughs, presenting its heyday and lamenting the darkest days of the humiliation of humans and art. The program also celebrates its survival, the courage to continue pursuing art and creativity, and the will to live.

Music in the "new Italian style" was in demand throughout Europe at the dawn of the baroque era. This program will cover the map from Italy (Claudio Monteverdi) to England (Henry Purcell), by way of Germany (Johann Rosenmüller), Austria (Johann Schmelzer), France (Jean-Baptiste Lully) and Bohemia (Heinrich Biber).
