The American composer Peter Lieberson died last Saturday in Tel Aviv, Israel, where he had gone for medical treatment. Lieberman was only 64 years old. He lived in Santa Fe, N.M.

The works of Peter Lieberman were often inspired by his Tibetan Buddhist practice. He wrote in a lyrical and accessible style.
