Sonia Megías, born in Almansa (Spain) on June 20th 1982. Sonia’s deep love of music, art, nature and rituals, is clearly expressed in all her works, where she tries to connect these elements in multi-media pieces, graphic scores, performances and events in which people connect with everyday beauty.
Sonia began composing at a very early age and she received guidance to continue growing as an artist and as a person from: Erasmus Fellowship (2003, Trieste, Italy); Fulbright Fellowship (2010-2012, New York, USA commissions from the Spanish Government (2009 and 2011). The teachers that influence her the most are Juan Maria Solare (Germany), Arturo Moya (Spain), Karlheinz Stockhausen (Germany), Esther Ferrer (France), Phill Niblock (USA) and Margarita Danielian (USA).
Sonia’s music is often played all over the world. She currently lives in Madrid, where she conducts the experimental choir CoroDelantal and teaches composition at Centro Superior Katarina Gurska.
