Louis Moyse wrote more than 170 works, many of them for the flute.
Though born in The Netherlands, the flutist and composer Louis Moyse was not Dutch. He was born on one of the tours of his father, who was also a flute player. His father was also his first flute teacher. He also studied piano and flute at the Paris conservatory.
After World War II het first went to South America, and in 1949 to Vermont, USA.
