British Queen honors composers

On the occasion of her birthday, the queen of England has honored composers James MacMillan and Karl Jenkins with knighthood ‘for services to Composing and Crossing Musical Genres’. Composer Mark-Anthony Turnage received a CBE.

Other musicians that were honored are conductor Neville Mariner, clarinetist and conductor Michael Collins, Michael Bochmann (Professor of violin and chamber music), conductor Simon Halsey, and Max Hole, who is Chairman and chief executive Officer Universal Music Group International.
