Composer Seann Branchfield writes modal/tonal music. The music ranges from solo music to large ensembles. Styles include classical, rock, jazz, new age and hybrid forms.
Seann Branchfield holds a M.A. in Music from the City College of New York and a B.A. in Music Composition from Linfield College. Over the years, he has studied the piano, oboe, trumpet and violin.
His compositions have been performed by groups such as the Ernest Bloch Music Festival’s Young Musicians Program, Fear No Music, participants of the Northwest Oboe Seminar, the Marylhurst Symphony, the Linfield Concert Band, the Linfield Concert Choir, the Linfield Jazz Band, the London Chamber Group and the New York Miniaturist Ensemble.
He was a finalist in the Oregon Symphony’s Conti Connection competition in 2004. In 2004, he composed background music for the Linfield College Theater Department’s production of Antigone and in 2007, he composed music and was the musical director for the City College of New York Theater Department’s production of The Imaginary Invalid.
He is currently studying scoring for film and multimedia at New York University as well as staying active as a composer and songwriter.
